While you might not want to drink this all night, it’s a great brew to whet your palette with, and pairs well with salads, appetizers and desserts, especially fruit pies. This isn’t your run of the mill wheat beer, either. Pyramid is the pioneer of wheat beers, and has their formula down to a science. Unlike other fruit beers, this adventurous ale is big brass all the way through, from aroma to body to flavor. Its zesty golden wheat flavor and perfect blend of apricot has been famous since 1994 when Pyramid first started brewing it. You will find some complexity of flavor in the layering of wheat and apricot, and in the unfiltered texture of this beer—but it simply tastes good.
This is one of the first microbrews and best fruit beers on the market. You don’t have to take my word for it. Pyramid Apricot Weizen Ale has won the Best of the Northwest/Pacific Fruit Beer in the United States Beer Tasting Championship, and the Great American Beef Festival Gold Medal for fruit beers.
