This is a tangy, hearty turkey marinara pasta dish w/a hint of cinnamon that I serve for guests all the time and they love it. It goes great with red wine and simple salad, ending with a cheese/fruit course. INGREDIENTS -Lean Ground turkey – 1 package -Sweet onion -1 large -Roasted Red peppers diced-jar (or roast your own) -Bowtie pasta (1 package) -Basil (nearly entire package), shredded -pinch of following dried herbs: thyme, oregano, rosemary, red pepper -cinnamon (tablespoon) -Marinara Sauce (1 large can) -Garlic (8 cloves) -red wine (any – 1/2 cup) -tomato paste (full small can) -sugar, salt, pepper – Shredded Quattro cheese DIRECTIONS – bring kettle of water to boil w/salt – meanwhile, brown turkey, add onion and garlic, generously sprinkle cinnamon – add marinara sauce, mix in paste directly in pan – add diced red peppers – add all dried herbs, sugar, salt, pepper to taste (1/2 teaspoon each will do) – add red wine – 5 min before serving add basil – Simmer for 20 min – Cook pasta a tad undercooked – Serve w/a scoop of sauce on top of each – Sprinkle w/cheese
