I lost almost 20% of my body weight on a low fat diet & trader joes has been a helpful part of it. An interesting observation: Trader Joes sells 93/7 chopped meat(7 % fat) at about $1/lb less than most stores in my NY area. However, looking at the label (Which I do now) – a portion is 112grams and has 5grams of fat. This is less than 5% fat not 7%. If this is true this is the leanest chop meat around other than having a butcher specially prepare meat for you and again cost 20% less than most stores. Or am I reading things incorrectly? One comment however – Trader Joes does not chop its meat in-store so be careful that the meat looks fresh when buying at Trader Joes.
