These are frozen French fries with an included packet of chipotle ranch barbeque sauce. After baking the fries for 18-22 minutes, the instructions say to either toss the fries with the sauce to coat evenly, or drizzle the sauce over the fries. The fries come out crispy, with no greasiness or sogginess. The barbeque sauce is slightly chunky, with noticeable sweetness, mustard flavors, and heat (provided by jalapeño peppers). It’s not so much heat as to cause a problem for most people, but for anyone who really can’t eat spicy food, the sauce could easily be served on the side. I thought it was a good heat level: present, but not overpowering. These would go well with just about any traditional cookout meal: burgers, steaks, chicken, etc. Obviously, fries smothered in barbeque sauce are going to be messy, so these are definitely more down-home than upscale.
